We recently stayed at Canopy by Hilton Cape Town Longkloof and it turned out to be one of those hotels that instantly feels right.

Wir haben kürzlich im Canopy by Hilton Cape Town Longkloof übernachtet, und es ist eines dieser Hotels, bei dem man sofort das richtige Gefühl hat.

Wenn du ein zentrales und stylisches Hotel in Kapstadt suchst, mit jungem, modernem Ambiente und atemberaubendem Blick auf die Berge, dann erfüllt dieses Hotel wirklich alle Erwartungen. Es verbindet eine hervorragende Lage mit durchdachtem Design und einer entspannten Atmosphäre, die dich das Gefühl gibt, ein Teil der Stadt zu sein, statt nur zu Besuch.

Location: One of the best areas to stay in Cape Town

The location was honestly one of my favorite things about this hotel. Set in the Longkloof area, it feels creative, local, and full of life.

Right outside the hotel, you have a collection of really cool shops, cafés, and little spots that were easily reached by foot. Kloof Street and Bree Street are just around the corner. It is the kind of neighborhood where you grab a coffee, wander into a concept store, and suddenly an hour has passed.

Some of my favorite cafes in Cape Town, like Custodian Pastry Bar, Cafe Sofi and Blondie, are just downstairs.

What I loved most is that it feels much more local and less busy than some of the more touristy areas, while still being incredibly central. You can easily reach places like V&A Waterfront or Camps Bay within minutes by car.

For me, it was the perfect base to experience Cape Town in a more authentic and relaxed way, while still enjoying the comfort of a hotel.

Die Lage war ehrlich gesagt eines meiner Lieblingsmerkmale dieses Hotels. Im Longkloof-Viertel gelegen, wirkt die Gegend kreativ, lokal und lebendig.

Direkt vor dem Hotel findest du eine Auswahl an wirklich coolen Shops, Cafés und kleinen Läden, die bequem zu Fuß erreichbar sind. Die Kloof Street und Bree Street sind nur um die Ecke. Es ist genau die Art von Nachbarschaft, in der man sich einen Kaffee holt, in einen Concept Store geht – und plötzlich ist eine Stunde vergangen.

Einige meiner Lieblingscafés in Kapstadt, wie Custodian Pastry Bar, Cafe Sofi und Blondie, liegen direkt in der Nähe.

Was ich besonders geschätzt habe, ist, dass die Gegend viel lokaler wirkt und weniger touristisch ist, während sie gleichzeitig extrem zentral liegt. Die V&A Waterfront oder Camps Bay sind mit dem Auto in wenigen Minuten erreichbar.

Für mich war es die perfekte Basis, um Kapstadt authentisch und entspannt zu erleben, ohne auf den Komfort eines Hotels verzichten zu müssen.

Our Room (King Deluxe Room with Mountain View)

We stayed in a King Deluxe Room with Mountain View, and I genuinely loved waking up here.

The design is modern and fresh with a slightly playful, youthful edge. It feels very intentional without trying too hard. Everything from the materials to the layout just works.

But the real highlight is the view. Seeing Table Mountain and Lion's Head right from your room never gets old. Especially in the morning, when the light hits the mountains, it is such a special way to start the day.

The room itself was super comfortable, with a very cozy bed and all the little details you need for an easy stay. It is the kind of space where you actually enjoy spending time, not just sleeping.

Wir haben im King Deluxe Room mit Bergblick übernachtet, und ich habe es wirklich geliebt, hier aufzuwachen.

Das Design ist modern und frisch, mit einem leicht verspielten, jungen Touch. Alles wirkt bewusst gestaltet, ohne zu übertrieben zu sein. Materialien, Raumaufteilung – alles funktioniert perfekt.

Das eigentliche Highlight ist jedoch der Ausblick. Den Tafelberg und Lion's Head direkt vom Zimmer aus zu sehen, wird nie langweilig. Besonders morgens, wenn das Licht die Berge trifft, ist das ein wunderschöner Start in den Tag.

Das Zimmer selbst war super komfortabel, mit einem gemütlichen Bett und allen kleinen Details, die einen Aufenthalt angenehm machen. Es ist der Typ Raum, in dem man gerne Zeit verbringt und nicht nur schläft.

Dining Options

Food was definitely a highlight during our stay.

A special highlight is Ongetem, led by renowned South African chef Bertus Basson, whose creative approach brings a fresh and modern twist to local flavors in a relaxed, vibrant setting. Ongetem, perfectly reflects the overall vibe of the property. It is lively, stylish, and still relaxed enough that you feel comfortable whether you come for a full dinner or just a drink. We found ourselves naturally gravitating there in the evenings because the atmosphere is just really enjoyable. We especially enjoyed the outdoor area and Teo could run around freely. The menu is great for sharing and trying different dishes. It feels social and easy, rather than overly formal.

Breakfast was another standout for me. The buffet had a really good variety, with fresh options and a mix of healthy choices and more indulgent ones. It really felt high quality.

It is the kind of breakfast that makes you want to take your time in the morning before heading out to explore Cape Town.

Das Essen war definitiv ein Highlight unseres Aufenthalts.

Ein besonderes Highlight ist Ongetem, geleitet vom renommierten südafrikanischen Koch Bertus Basson. Seine kreative Herangehensweise verleiht den lokalen Aromen eine frische und moderne Note in einem entspannten, lebendigen Ambiente. Das Restaurant spiegelt perfekt die Atmosphäre des Hotels wieder. Es ist lebendig, stylisch und trotzdem locker genug, um sich wohlzufühlen – egal, ob man zum Abendessen oder nur auf einen Drink vorbeikommt. Wir haben uns abends immer wieder dort aufgehalten, weil die Stimmung einfach sehr angenehm ist. Besonders die Außenbereiche haben uns gefallen, wo Teo frei herumlaufen konnte. Die Speisekarte ist ideal zum Teilen und um verschiedene Gerichte auszuprobieren. Alles wirkt sozial und unkompliziert, ohne zu formell zu sein.

Auch das Frühstück war ein Highlight. Das Buffet bot eine großartige Auswahl mit frischen Speisen und einer Mischung aus gesunden und etwas üppigeren Optionen. Alles wirkte hochwertig und durchdacht.

Es ist genau das Frühstück, bei dem man morgens gerne Zeit nimmt, bevor man Kapstadt erkundet.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Canopy by Hilton Cape Town Longkloof. It has that perfect mix of being stylish but still relaxed and unpretentious.
