I would never thought that I would prefer a resort vacation over exploring different places, but turns out, with a 1 year old your priorities change :) This is why we were looking for a resort that would make both, us and baby, happy and we could spend a relaxing and fun holiday.
We chose Miraggio Thermal Spa Resort in Halkidiki, Greece, since we heard and read many good things about, and it did not disappoint.
DE: Ich hätte nie gedacht, dass ich einen Urlaub im Resort dem Erkunden vieler verschiedener Orte vorziehen würde, aber mit einem 1-Jährigen ändern sich die nun mal doch Prioritäten :) Aus diesem Grund waren wir auf der Suche nach einem Hotel, in dem wirund unser Baby einen erholsamen sowie unterhaltsamen Urlaub verbringen würde.
Wir haben uns für das Miraggio Thermal Spa Resort in Chalkidiki, Griechenland, entschieden, da wir viel Gutes darüber gehört und gelesen haben, und es hat uns nicht enttäuscht.

Miraggio is located in the Cassandra peninsula and is a 1.5 hour drive away from Thessaloniki Airport. Transfers arranged by the hotel are available or you can arrive with your own car. Parking and valet service are available on-site.
DE: Ich nehme euch mit auf unseren Familienurlaub in Chalkidiki, Griechenland. In diesem Beitrag teile ich meine persönlichen Erfahrungen im Miraggio Resorts und Ihr findet alle Informationen über das Hotel vor eurem Besuch.
Miraggio liegt auf der Halbinsel Kassandra und ist 1,5 Autostunden vom Flughafen Thessaloniki entfernt. Vom Hotel organisierte Transfers stehen zur Verfügung oder Ihr könnt mit dem eigenen Auto anreisen. Parkplätze und ein Valetservice stehen vor Ort zur Verfügung.
Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff. The huge lobby opens up to the hotels main terrace with a wonderful view over the ocean and the whole resort. Instantly we knew, we would love it here.
DE: Bei der Ankunft wurden wir vom freundlichen Personal herzlich begrüßt. Die riesige Lobby öffnet sich zur Hauptterrasse des Hotels und bietet einen wunderbaren Blick über das Meer und das gesamte Resort. Wir wussten sofort, dass es uns hier gefallen würde.
After checkin we headed to our room, which was a Deluxe Sea View Room. The room layout was spacious and modern, featuring a private balcony overlooking the pool and beach. There are many different room types available depneding on your needs and preferences and there are also the so called Club rooms, which offer you extra benefits like access to the Club beach area or breakfast at Elia Restaurant.
DE: Nach dem Einchecken gingen wir zu unserem Zimmer, einem Deluxe Sea View Room. Die Raumaufteilung war geräumig und modern und verfügte über einen privaten Balkon mit Blick auf den Pool und den Strand. Je nach euren Bedürfnissen und Vorlieben stehen viele verschiedene Zimmertypen zur Verfügung. Außerdem gibt es die sogenannten Club-Zimmer, die euch zusätzliche Vorteile wie Zugang zum Club-Strandbereich oder Frühstück im Elia Restaurant bieten.
The private beach is just a few steps away and the water is crystal clear. Teo loved playing here in the sand while we relaxed with some drinks and mezzes from Mezedaki, the beach restaurant.
DE: Der private Sandstrand ist nur wenige Schritte entfernt und das Wasser ist kristallklar. Teo liebte es, hier im Sand zu spielen, während wir uns bei ein paar Drinks und Mezze vom Mezedaki, dem Strandrestaurant, entspannten.
In terms of pools, there a many options. The main pool is gigantic. There is also a adults only Thermal water swimming pool and a kids pool. In the Spa you will find the thalassotherapy pool is directly linked to the sea with water and another infinity pool. Definitely great to relax and unwind. Some of the club rooms also have a private pool.
DE: In Sachen Pools, gibt es viele Möglichkeiten. Der Hauptpool ist riesig. Es gibt auch ein Thermalwasser-Pool nur für Erwachsene und einen Kinderpool. Im Spa findet Ihr den Thalassotherapie-Pool, der direkt mit dem Meer verbunden ist, und einen weiteren Infinity-Pool. Auf jeden Fall toll zum Entspannen und Erholen. Einige der Clubräume verfügen auch über einen privaten Pool.
We booked a Half Board package since we did not plan to leave the resort. Breakfast and Dinner buffets were served at Kritamo restaurant. The restaurant offers beautiful sea views and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The buffet is really high quality and plenty of options are available, also for the kids. In the week we stayed, there was always something new and no repetitions.
In case you want to have an A La Carte Experience there are a few outlets: Sommelier 8 (Meat & Wine Bar), Portofino (Italian), Toroneo (Seafood) as well as the pool and beach restaurants to catch a quick bite.
DE: Wir hatten Halbpension gebucht, da wir nicht vorhatten, das Resort zu verlassen. Frühstücks- und Abendbuffets wurden im Restaurant Kritamo serviert. Das Restaurant bietet einen wunderschönen Meerblick und zahlreiche Sitzgelegenheiten im Innen- und Außenbereich. Das Buffet ist wirklich hochwertig und es gibt jede Menge Auswahl, auch für die Kinder. In der Woche unseres Aufenthaltes gab es immer etwas Neues und keine Wiederholungen.
Wenn Ihr ein À-la-carte-Erlebnis wünscht, gibt es einige Restaurants: Sommelier 8 (Fleisch- und Weinbar), Portofino (italienisch), Toroneo (Fisch & Meeresfrüchte) sowie die Pool- und Strandrestaurants, in denen Ihr tagsüber etwas essen könnt.
Another big highlight for us and especially Teo was the kids club. It is huge and every detail has been thought off. Especially with kids a bit older this place is a dream. Teo loved the mini disco and the playgound. Babysitting service is available for a small fee.
DE: Ein weiteres großes Highlight für uns und insbesondere Teo war der Kinderclub. Er ist riesig und jedes Detail wurde durchdacht. Besonders für etwas ältere Kinder ist dieser Ort ein Traum. Teo liebte die Minidisco und den Spielplatz. Gegen Gebühr gibt auch Babysitter für die ganz Kleinen.
In the evening we always had some drinks at the main bar where live entertainment was performed every night. A perfect end to a beautiful day.
DE: Abends haben wir den Tag mit ein paar Drinks an der Hauptbar ausklingen lassen. Hier gab es jeden Abend Live-Unterhaltung. Ein perfekter Abschluss für einen schönen Tag.
The hotel offers many more activities like tennis, water sports, archery, the spa and many more so there is always something to do.
We are already planning to come back since we had the perfect family vacation at Miraggio.
