We were in Brisbane for a 1 night layover before our flight to Vanuatu. We picked a hotel that has easy access to the airport yet gives us the opportunity to explore the city a bit.
Sofitel Brisbane Central was perfect for this matter. The location is directly on top of the Brisbane Central Station and the hotel has direct access to the station. The Airport Express train just takes 20 minutes from the hotel to the terminal so this is super convenient.
The hotel is huge yet it is very charming and with many great details. The theme is “French chique” and it is reflected across the hotel. The moment you enter the lobby you feel impressed by the space and design. As much as I love small boutique hotels I also really enjoy the bustling vibe of a big business hotel.
The staff was very welcoming and charming from the first minute. Check in went quick and smooth and we could not wait to see our room on the 21st floor. Our room, a Superior Room, had everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. It was big and so cozy. The design was modern classic. And the bed big and comfy. Of course amenities like water boiler and selection coffee and tea was available.
Here comes my favorite part, the breakfast. Or let’s call it brunch. The selection was just amazing. You got everything you could think of and I regret not to be able to have tasted all of it because it was simply so many choices. The best part were the pastries like the croissants. Another great thing was the coffee bar. You could get any coffee as take away and it was good coffee. So after a great breakfast we grabbed our Americanos and headed straight to the airport.
As mentioned you can reach the Airport Express without leaving the hotel. We bought our tickets from the concierge and took the walking stairs from the lobby which led directly to the train station. This was really convenient and gained us some valuable time.
Sofitel Brisbane Central is perfect for everyone who wants to have a care free and relaxing stay in the heart of Brisbane. I can definitely recommend.
