Where to stay in Praslin? Le Duc de Praslin review

After a long journey from Berlin to the Seychelles we finally made it to our first destination: Praslin island. Read here all about our 1 week Seychelles itinerary.

Anse Volbert - Cote D'Or Beach

After a 30 minute car ride from Praslin Airport we arrived at our accommodation: Le Duc de Praslin which is located right on Anse Volbert, one of the prettiest beaches on Praslin. This 4 star property offers a great combination of boho beach vibes with modern accents.

After a quick welcome drink we headed to our room which was located in the "new complex". The room was bright and beautifully decorated. We had plenty of space and everything we needed, including a Nespresso coffee machine. Our room was located on the ground floor with perfect access to the pool and the beach.

The beach is located just a few steps from the property. As all beaches on the Seychelles there is no such thing a private beach but the hotel has a private beach area with sun chairs and the beautiful Cafe des Arts restaurant.

Anse Volbert, also known as Cote D'Or beach, is a beautiful long stretch of beach on the the North Coast of the island. This beach is not affected by strong winds or seaweed which can be an issue on some parts of the island during the months May-October.

The turquoise water and white sand are simply stunning and the beach is also great to take a walk and unwind. You also have stunning views on St Pierre Island and Curieuse Island. We spent most of our time here at Cafe des Arts and just enjoyed this piece of heaven.

The hotel offers different meal plans. (Breakfast only, Half Board or Full Board). We were on a Half Board plan where breakfast and the buffet dinner are included. The dinner was really tasty. We also had dinner at Cafe des Arts where you have a 50% discount when on Half Board. This was a real highlight. The setting right on the beach and the food itself were great. Cafe des Arts is also open to non hotel guests and is a popular spot on the beach. On the weekends there is a DJ performance so you can enjoy drinks right on the beach.

Breakfast is served as a combination of A La Carte and buffet. Compared to the great quality of the dinners, breakfast could be a bit improved.

On a rainy day I treated myself with a back and shoulder massage which I desperately needed after the long flight. The Spa is located on the top floor of the new building and is located right next to the gorgeous gym which I admired from the outside :)

Overall I can say that Le Duc de Praslin is one of the best places to stay in Praslin. The rooms and facilities are beautiful and modern, the beach is heaven and the prices are very reasonable compared to the value you get.
