After an amazing time in Playa del Carmen and Cozumel full of exploring and activities, we were ready to relax for a few days and just do nothing else than enjoying the beach.
I could not think of any better place than the Ritz Carlton Cancun for this.
The Ritz Carlton Cancun is located in the heart of the Cancun Hotel Zone. In this area you will find many big resorts next to each other with the turquoise Caribbean Sea right in front you. I was excited as a kid when I saw the hotel zone from the plane and could not wait to spend some time here. The water color is just insane!!
The moment we arrived at the property we were welcomed so warm; I already could tell that the service would be impeccable.
We were escorted directly to the Club Floor on the 8th floor for check in. All guests who stay in one of the club rooms have exclusive access to the Club Floor with special benefits like VIP checkin and many more.
Since we arrived pretty early and our room was not ready yet we immediately headed to the beach area. The hotel has a wide area reserved for its guests right in front of the hotel. You can choose between regular sunbeds or for an additional fee you can rent a private cabana.
Facing the beach there is the Caribe Bar and Grill where you have a wide choice of drinks and food served during the day. Along the beach there is also the huge pool area with plenty of sunloungers available.
At the beach as well as by the pool you will find all amenities like towels, sunscreen and water available so you just need to grab your beach bag and can relax. The team makes sure you are comfortable and have everything you need.
Tip: Try to go early since sunbeds by the beach tend to fill up quickly.
Before going to our room we stopped by for lunch the Club Lounge, which is complimentary for Club Room guests. You will find a daily changing selection of starters and a hot dish. It’s not a big buffet but everything was just delicious.
The club lounge is open daily and follows the following schedule, all complimentary for Club Level guests
Breakfast, 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. Light Lunch, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Tea Time, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Cocktails & Hors d'oeuvres, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Chocolates and Cordials, 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Sunkissed and well fed we were ready to see our Club Ocean View Room. I had seen pictures of the room before and already was excited and it was even more beautiful. The view from our balcony overlooking the ocean was breathtaking.
The room décor was classic yet modern. I knew we were going to spend a lot of time in here.
After settling in we headed to the Club Lounge for afternoon tea to get some coffee and pastries and after that sticked around for cocktails. They had an amazing selection of drinks and cocktails including a daily selection of signature cocktails.
In the evening dinner is served at the Club Lounge as well and again the food was impeccable. Everything was so good we barely left the 8th floor and just enjoyed our time between Club Lounge and our beautiful room.
The hotel of course also has a selection of inhouse restaurants, some of which rated the best in the area. Let me give you a small overview
Fantino - the fine dining restaurant
Casitas – here you can have a romantic dinner right on the beach, it’s mainly seafood
The Club Grill – Here you can enjoy a great dinner accompanied by live Jazz music
D-Lounge – This lounge bar offers a huge variety of cocktails and drinks and also has a Sushi Bar. The atmosphere is speakeasy like
El Café Mexicano – Here the daily breakfast Is served but it is also open for lunch.
We had an amazing time here at Ritz Carlton Cancun and I can recommend it to everyone who is looking for a relaxing beach vacation paired with good food and the best service.
