After our stay in Losinj we decided to spend also a couple of days in beautiful Opatija. If you haven't been to Opatija yet you definitely should! It is just a 5 hour drive from South Germany and only 2-3 hours from Austria. So even great for a short weekend getaway.
We stayed at Opatija Hills Mediterranean Luxury Resort. Located on the hills of Opatija it is the perfect place for a relaxed holiday. 100% privacy yet still very closet to Opatija town. Opatija Hills is a family owned business. There are several villas on the premises of which some are currently being renovated. I got a sneak peak and they look amazing!
Our villa was huge and ideal for a party of four. The moment you entered you could smell the fresh lavender everywhere. We had a spacious living room and kitchen area opening up to a big terrace overlooking the Kvarner Bay. The interior is classic country style and was super cozy. The details around the space gave it a homey touch.
The open kitchen was well equipped and we prepared our breakfast here. A special highlight were the fresh bell peppers and tomatoes from the garden and the espresso in the morning
In the evenings we chilled on the couch watching Netflix and there is also a fully functional fire place.
The villas have their own private pool and also a jacuzzi. The pool is not your usual plunge pool. They are all quite big and have an amazing view. Especially the newly built infinity pools are incredibly beautiful. The pool area also has a big open bar and a Barbeque area. Plenty of sunbeds and lounge chairs are available throughout the property.
Noticed the tennis courts? The property has two tennis courts and is available for guests to use.
The master bedroom was spacious with a huge bed and a flat screen TV. The ensuite bathroom had a bathtub and two sinks.
The second room has two single beds and is ideal for the kids. There is also a separate closet room.
You can find another smaller bathroom with a shower and a washing machine. Even the bathroom has an incredible view over the bay.
Overall I really enjoyed staying here. I would recommend Opatija Hills to anyone who is looking for a holiday rental to feel at home and relax. It is a great place to rent for a couple of weeks and just enjoy the beautiful landscape and the food of Opatija.
