After visiting the Maldives for the sixth time and visiting 12 different islands I believe I can say that Velassaru Maldives is my personal favorite. So it should not come as a surprise that we visited the island for the second time during our last Maldives trip. Our first trip was on our babymoon when I was 5 months pregnant with Teo. So I could not be happier to revisit this paradise with Teo.
So what makes Velassaru so special?
Before giving you my thoughts, here is a comprehensive review of our stay at Velassaru Island.

Deshalb haben wir uns entschieden, die Insel während unserer letzten Maledivenreise zum zweiten Mal zu besuchen. Unsere erste Reise war während unserem Babymoon, als ich im fünften Monat mit Teo schwanger war. Daher könnte ich nicht glücklicher sein, dieses Paradies mit Teo nun erneut zu besuchen.
Was macht Velassaru so besonders?
Bevor ich euch erzähle warum Velassaru mein Favorit ist, verlinke ich euch meinen ausführlichen Reisebericht über unseren Aufenthalt im Velassaru.
1 - The vibe
Velassaru has a very special boutique vibe. The island is rather on the small side and you will see and feel the attention to detail all around it. You will feel special and taken care of which leaves you free to enjoy the beauty of the island and just relax. Sounds like a relaxing holiday, right?

Velassaru hat eine ganz besondere Boutique-Atmosphäre. Die Insel ist eher klein und man spürt überall die Liebe zum Detail. Wir haben uns immer umsorgt gefühlt und wir haben die Schönheit der Insel in vollen Zügen genießen können und einfach nur entspannt. Klingt nach einem erholsamen Urlaub, oder?
2 - Luxury at a very reasonable price
Unfortunately the Maldives come with a hefty price tag. Velassaru Maldives offers a great luxury experience without charging crazy amounts. It really offers the best value for money. Beach villas start around 600 Euros per night.

Leider ist auf den Malediven nicht günstig. Velassaru Maldives bietet ein großartiges Luxuserlebnis, die Preise halten sich jedoch im Rahmen. Es bietet wirklich das beste Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Strandvillen kosten ca ab 600 Euro pro Nacht.
3 - The Food
Velassaru has the best buffet experience I have experienced in the Maldives. It is a very upscale, non messy buffet and the quality and range of food is excellent.

Velassaru bietet das beste Buffet-Erlebnis, das ich auf den Malediven erlebt habe. Es ist ein sehr gehobenes, übersichtliches Buffet und die Qualität und Auswahl der Speisen ist ausgezeichnet.
4 - The Water
The Maldives is known for is crazy blue water and the water at Velassaru is just insane. Around the water villas as well as the beach bungalows, it is just perfect, since it is not too shallow or affected by currents like on some islands.
DE: 4 - Das Meer
Die Malediven sind für ihr unglaublich türkises Meer bekannt und das Meer auf Velassaru ist einfach atemberaubend schön. Rund um die Wasservillen und Strandbungalows ist es einfach perfekt, da es nicht zu flach ist oder von Strömungen beeinträchtigt wird, wie es auf manchen Inseln der Fall ist.
5 - The Team
Las but not least, the team. All of the staff is beyond kind and well trained. They really make your vacation special and go above and beyond to accommodate you. Not to mention the friendliness.
This is why I would recommend Velassaru to everyone planning to visit the Maldives. Especially first timers, couples and also families (however no kids club).

Das gesamte Personal ist überaus freundlich und gut geschult. Alle gehen wirklich die extra Meile damit Ihr euch wohl fühlt und keine Wünsche offen bleiben. Ganz zu schweigen von der Freundlichkeit.
Aus diesen Gründen würde ich Velassaru wirklich jedem empfehlen, der eine Reise auf die Malediven plant. Vor allem Erstbesucher, Paare und aber auch Familien (es gibt jedoch keinen Kindsclub).
